Dried Lavender for Your Home

Dried lavender is a staple for us at Daisy Gifts Ltd and is perfect for potpourri making. It adds colour and fragrance to any mix and is ideal for in the bedroom due its naturally calming properties. It is also often used in drawers and wardrobes as a moth repellent!

Lavender in the Bedroom

For improved sleep, try mixing chamomile or hops with lavender as these all share the same calming properties. Add these to a sleep pillow or sachet and further boost the calming effects by adding a few drops of lavender essential oil. Of course, you can purchase these mixes ready made on our website, as well as the individual ingredients if you prefer to fill your own bags and sachets.

Another bedroom benefit of lavender is that it is naturally a great moth repellent. We recommend adding dried lavender and cedar roses to an organza bag or sachet and placing them in your wardrobes and drawers. Both are great for deterring moths and are also very pretty. At Daisyshop we sell these bags ready made and enhanced with natural essential oils.

Elizabethan potpourri

One of our favourite potpourri mixes is our Elizabethan potpourri. This exclusive blend is reminiscent of traditional recipes dating back to Elizabethan and Tudor times and was inspired by a suggestion from a former chairman of The Herb Society. It is a mix of dried lavender and rose petals with a sprinkling of cornflower petals and marigolds, orange peel, rose buds and a few cloves. We enhance the subtle natural floral scent with a few drops of Just Rose fragrance oil.

Lavender is a great addition to a multitude of botanical potpourri blends. We have a list of 10 uses for dried lavender that includes a zingy lavender and lime mix as well as wedding confetti ideas.
