Using Dried Fruit All Year Round

Dried fruit is a perfect addition to potpourri. Whether a citrus hit in summer or a warm spicy mix over winter, fruit adds colour and fragrance to each potpourri blend.

Citrus Potpourri

Our handmade citrus potpourri is made from dried lemon peel, chamomile and a sprinkle of lavender with no additional fragrance. It makes use of small pieces at the suggestion of our customers, who use it to fill scented sachets and mini organza bags. We also sell this mix in pre-filled mini organza bags, making lovely small gifts or favours. This blend creates a natural citrus sherbet fragrance with a hint of lemon zest. Enhance the aromas through the addition of lavender or lemon fragrance oil.

Another favourite is our Sunshine citrus potpourri that uses larger leaves, seed pods and flowers for a chunky mix. Items you might find in the mix are: dried lime halves, brunch balls, lemon verbena, nigella seed pods, poppy seed pods, cotton pods, yellow helichrysums, craspedia or lonas, UK wheat and barley seed heads, and UK grown eucalyptus, rosemary, cistus and bay leaves. Being hand-mixed, the exact composition may vary. The citrus zesty scent is boosted with lemon and lime fragrance oils.

Making a potpourri mix with dried citrus fruit like lemon and lime is perfect for the bathroom due to their natural clean and fresh fragrance.

Oranges for Christmas

Whole dried oranges are perfect on their own for a modern twist on potpourri. The marmalade aroma would be a lovely addition to the kitchen, but keep out of reach of children! Just add a little fragrance oil for a real scent boost.
